Terry L. Kesinger

Terry L. Kesinger is an Associate Partner in the Irvine office of Murchison & Cumming, LLP. Throughout his career, Mr. Kesinger has focused on civil writs, appeals and law and motion, primarily in the areas of legal malpractice defense, medical malpractice defense, employment law and insurance coverage disputes. His work has resulted in numerous published opinions in these fields, addressing issues such as liability of emergency room physicians for negligence of subsequent treating physicians, application of MICRA defenses to physicians' negligent failure to report suspected child abuse, overtime obligations under alternative workweek schedules, and disclosure of other insureds who were denied disability benefits. Mr. Kesinger's law and motion practice covers the full range of civil procedure, from jurisdictional challenges, restraining orders and injunctions, discovery matters, case dispositive motions and post-trial motions. His practice also extends to licensing and disciplinary hearings in administrative matters.

Mr. Kesinger has argued before the Ninth Circuit, the United States District Court for the Central District of California as well as the Second and Fourth District Courts of Appeal. In 2006, he served as a state liaison for the National Foundation for Judicial Excellence to the California Court of Appeal, 4th Appellate District.  Mr. Kesinger is "AV" rated by Martindale Hubbell.
