Todd G. Lezon
Todd G. Lezon is a Partner in the Los Angeles office of Murchison & Cumming, LLP, where he brings a wealth of expertise in transportation liability to his practice. Todd is a highly skilled litigator, representing his clients across all stages of civil litigation, with a focus on commercial auto, personal auto, habitability, and products liability cases. His ability to navigate complex legal challenges is exemplified by his success in securing a motion to expunge a lis pendens, effectively winning the case for his client. Todd's unwavering dedication to his clients is reflected in his zealous advocacy and commitment to achieving the best possible outcomes.
Todd's commercial auto litigation experience includes defending truck drivers and contract service providers in high-exposure transportation cases involving catastrophic injuries. His personal auto litigation experience encompasses representing defendants engaged in virtually every type of vehicle accident. Additionally, Todd’s deep understanding of habitability litigation has made him a trusted advisor to property owners and management companies facing significant exposure to statutory attorney fees and civil penalties.
Todd is known for his strategic acumen and meticulous planning, which have consistently achieved positive results for his clients. He prevailed on a motion to quash for lack of personal jurisdiction after a four-hour evidentiary hearing that involved examining and cross-examining several witnesses. The results led to his client's dismissal from the case. In addition, he has effectively prepared and argued motions for summary judgment, persuaded the plaintiff's attorneys to dismiss his clients from the case voluntarily, and settled cases at mediation for less than half of the potential value of the case.
Before embarking on his legal career, Todd served as a non-commissioned officer in the U.S. Army, with two deployments to Iraq to support Operation Iraqi Freedom. During his first deployment, he was part of a military police unit that played a crucial role in initial combat operations. In his second deployment, he led a special operations team charged with implementing the division commander’s counterinsurgency strategy in central Iraq. For his exemplary service, Todd was awarded the Iraq Campaign Medal, the Global War on Terrorism Expeditionary Medal, and the Army Commendation Medal.
Todd earned his B.A. in Political Science from the University of California, San Diego, and his J.D. from California Western School of Law. He further enhanced his legal credentials by obtaining an advanced LL.M. in Taxation from the University of San Diego School of Law.
A dedicated advocate for veterans, Todd has contributed extensively to pro bono work for disabled veterans. Outside of his professional life, he cherishes time spent with his wife and twin boys, finding immense joy in watching them grow and thrive.
