Murchison & Cumming's Pamela Marantz Speaking on USLAW Panel
June 10, 2019
Murchison & Cumming is pleased to announce that Pamela J. Marantz will be speaking on a panel titled “How to Toot Your Own Horn,” at the USLAW Women’s Connection in Cape Nedduck, Maine.
Historically, women have been conditioned to be humble and not to call attention to their own accomplishments. However, in the current workplace, it is necessary for women to feel comfortable calling attention to their “wins” in order to further their careers. This interactive discussion will examine why “appropriate bragging” is difficult for women (in general) and how women can improve and learn this valuable workplace skill.
Pamela Marantz is a member of the firm's Employment Law and General Liability & Casualty practice groups. In addition to handling litigation, Ms. Marantz provides advice to employers. She has represented non-profit, public and private employers in employment discrimination, harassment, equal protection claims and administrative proceedings before the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, Department of Fair Employment & Housing and other local administrative agencies. She also counsels employers in a myriad of sensitive personnel decisions, such as hiring, promotion, performance evaluation, discipline, compensation and discharge issues, reductions in force, exit incentive programs, releases, and leaves of absence. She conducts California state mandated sexual harassment trainings.
