Kelly Hayes Joins Murchison & Cumming's Cannabis Law Practice Group

Murchison & Cumming, LLP is pleased to announce that Kelly Hayes has joined the Cannabis Law practice group in our San Diego office. She works with a wide range of clients from small farmers to large corporations. Kelly works on a wide array of cannabis matters including, state and local licensing applications, regulatory compliance, zoning and land/use issues, and business litigation. In 2015, she assisted in the formation of the first cannabis agricultural cooperative in California and has successfully obtained commercial cannabis licenses throughout the state of California.
Ms. Hayes first became involved in drug policy reform as a student member of Students for Sensible Drug Policy (SSDP) during her undergraduate studies at the University of Rhode Island and while interning with SSDP's national office located in Washington, D.C. She is passionate about providing a voice to her clients and guiding them through this newly legal and regulated market. She is honest, diligent, and dedicated to achieving results and protecting her client's best interests.
Ms. Hayes received her BA in Journalism from the University of Rhode Island before continuing onto Thomas Jefferson School of Law in San Diego. While in law school, she was the President of the Public Interest Law Foundation and received a Certificate of Law and Social Justice. She interned with both the Public Defender of San Diego and Federal Defender's Offices, the Madge Bradley Domestic Violence Center, as well as Professor Alex Kreit, a legal expert in the cannabis law field.
