Murchison & Cumming Attorney Crislove Igeleke Honored as Pro Bono Attorney of the Year

Murchison & Cumming is pleased to announce that Las Vegas Associate Crislove A. Igeleke is being honored by Nevada Legal Services (NLS) with the 2019 Pro Bono Attorney of the Year Award. The award is presented in recognition of all the hours of free legal assistance that she has provided over the past year. Ms. Igeleke will be honored at the Champions of Justice Reception on October 18 at the Strat Hotel along with the Honoree, Nevada Ret. Supreme Court Justice Michael L. Douglas. “Everyone is always busy, but we make time for what’s important,” said Ms. Igeleke. “I think giving is something you can always find time for. Not only does it bring joy, but research shows giving is good for your health.” Crislove enjoys serving in the Las Vegas community where she was born and raised. At William S. Boyd School of Law, she was on the Boards for the Public Interest Law Association and the Child Advocacy Law Association. She taught community legal education classes and represented foster children with special needs to get individualized educational plans and other accommodations in the classroom. In addition to taking pro bono cases, she currently volunteers at Ask A Lawyer workshops on various legal issues for individuals and small business owners. Crislove also works with and mentors aspiring lawyers at the William S. Boyd School of Law most recently volunteering as a Judge for the law school’s 21st Annual Moot Court Competition and a panelist for the Western Regional BLSA Convention. “We make a living by what we get. Boyd School of Law. Nevada Legal Services, Inc. is a non-profit organization providing free legal services to low income Nevadans. NLS is a state-wide organization assisting every county in Nevada funded through various sources, but primarily funded through a grant from the federal government.
