Murchison & Cumming, LLP Adds Gaming Law Practice Group

Murchison & Cumming is pleased to announce the addition of our Gaming Law Practice Group, chaired by Las Vegas Partner R. Scott Rasmussen. Scott has experience in business litigation, corporate law, gaming law, and premise and product liability. What sets Scott apart in the Nevada legal community is his unique skill set that encompasses both his expertise in gaming law and being proficient in Japanese. Scott has represented many gaming clients and institutions throughout his years as an attorney.
Gaming is a rapidly expanding international industry and Las Vegas remains the gaming headquarters of the world. This half a trillion dollar industry includes casinos, sport betting, online gaming, gaming-devices and equipment manufacturers, and other related organizations. Our attorneys provide creative strategies for our clients designed to evolve with the industry and assure clients are compliant with all gaming regulations and the law. With such high stakes, M&C understands the need for an experienced team that can provide a full spectrum of legal expertise. Our Gaming team represents clients across the industry in a wide spectrum of gaming matters. We represent our clients with the Nevada Gaming Control Board, the California Gaming Control Board, and the California Nations Indian Gaming Association.
Scott attended the University of Maryland where he received his Bachelor's in East Asian Studies and then continued onto Washington University for his JD and Master's in Japanese. He also has a LLM in Gaming and Regulation from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas. He taught Japanese at the college level for three years and also taught Business Law for eight years at the College of Southern Nevada.
