JLL Completes Two Downtown LA Leases Totaling 69,000 SFMay 19, 2010 Commercial Property Executive Jones Lang LaSalle has inked two separate leases with law firms in downtown Los Angeles. Murchison & Cumming, L.L.P. has signed a 10-year, 42,162-square-foot lease renewal at 801 South Grand Ave., while Ogletree Deakins Nash Smoak & Stewart, P,C. has signed a 10-year, 26,924-square-foot lease at the Mellon Bank Center at 400 South Hope Ave. Ogletree Deakins will relocate from its current headquarters in June. “In each of these transactions, the current commercial real estate market allowed the tenant the opportunity to secure a long-term lease with favorable terms,” Thomas McDonald of JLL said when announcing the news “In evaluating current market dynamics and other possible alternatives in the market, we determined that Murchison & Cumming’s existing building was the best fit for their business needs and goals, whereas a relocation was best suited to align with Ogletree Deakins’ objectives.” Murchison & Cumming was represented by McDonald, while Peter Best of Madison Partners represented the landlord, Palo Alto-based The Brickman Group. Ogletree Deakins was represented by McDonald and Darren Eades of JLL. Murchison & Cumming is a civil litigation firm with five offices in California and Las Vegas.
