Murchison & Cumming Welcomes New Associates in Los Angeles OfficeDecember 1, 2011 LOS ANGELES – Murchison & Cumming, LLP is pleased to announce that James Sargent and Jonathan C. Teller have passed California’s July bar exam and become associates with the firm. Mr. Sargent will join the firm’s general liability and product liability practice groups, focusing his practice on matters involving catastrophic injury and toxic tort. Mr. Sargent also serves as an adjunct faculty member at Loyola Law School where he coaches the Byrne Trial Advocacy Team. As a law student he was named Western Regional Champion and Semi-Finalist in two trial competitions sponsored by the American Trial Lawyers Association. He also participated in the Judge Stephen O’Neil Mentoring Program. Mr. Sargent is a graduate of Loyola Law School and the US Air Force Academy. Prior to attending law school, he served in the United States Air Force, receiving numerous achievement and service medals. Mr. Teller will be focusing his practice on matters involving general liability defense, business litigation and product liability. Having recently relocated to Los Angeles from New York City, Mr. Teller is a graduate of York University in Toronto, Canada, and Touro College’s Jacob D. Fuchsberg Law Center in New York City. While in law school, Mr. Teller interned at several New York City law firms, was a recipient of the CALI Award for Academic Excellence in Civil Practice Externship, and participated in the Touro Law Center’s Real Estate and Intellectual Property Law Societies and its Court Observation Program.
