Murchison & Cumming Welcomes New Partner to the Insurance Law Practice Group

LOS ANGELES - Murchison & Cumming, LLP is pleased to announce that Jean M. Daly has joined the firm’s Los Angeles office as a Partner. Ms. Daly focuses her practice on representing insurers in complex coverage litigation, including defending against bad faith claims, assisting with fraud and arson investigations and handling first party coverage matters. This includes issuing coverage opinions and assisting Special Investigation Units in investigating and initiating affirmative litigation against physicians, medical groups and attorneys for fraudulent billing and unnecessary medical treatment. She also represents insurance carriers in both state and federal court in connection with civil RICO and California whistleblower actions.

With more than 150 jury trials and more than 50 non-jury trials, Ms. Daly has been a trial attorney for her entire 23 years as an attorney. Her experience includes all phases of trial before state and federal courts, including representing public agencies in complex civil rights and class action litigation and claims of professional malpractice against attorneys and accountants.

Ms. Daly is a recognized specialist in the field of arson and fire losses and served as an Asst. District Attorney in both San Francisco and Los Angeles counties, heading up the Arson unit in Los Angeles, before moving to the private sector. She is also knowledgeable regarding cyber issues, having received cyber training from the FBI, and will be working with firm clients on cyber issues.
