Law & Motion Attorney (3+ years)

Murchison & Cumming, LLP, a premier AV-rated civil litigation defense firm, is seeking an Associate Attorney to join our Law & Motion practice in the Los Angeles office. We are looking for attorneys who are proactive, collaborative, and committed to delivering high-quality legal work. This is a full-time, hybrid role offering meaningful litigation experience and a path to career advancement. Must reside in California.

Key Responsibilities

Demonstrated excellence in legal research, writing, and analysis
Skilled in drafting pleadings, motions, and briefs, with experience preparing Motions for Summary Judgment
Independently manage a litigation caseload from intake through resolution
Conduct depositions, attend court appearances, and argue motions
Communicate with clients and provide strategic case updates
Collaborate closely with partners and other associates on case strategy
Participate in settlement negotiations and trial preparation
Prepared to appear on-site for case matters as needed

Qualifications

JD from an accredited law school
Active and in good standing with the California State Bar
3+ years of litigation experience
Exceptional legal writing, oral advocacy, and analytical skills
Ability to meet deadlines and adapt to client needs in a fast-paced environment
State courtroom experience strongly preferred
Research attorney experience a plus but not required
Trial experience is a plus but not required
